My students love to color! They especially love color by code activities. But I have found that so many of the color by code activities out there are too simple. The students either catch onto the color patterns or simply have to match a word to a color, neither allow much thinking or working.
So I made these color by code phonics spelling activities. My students LOVE these! They actually cheer when I hand them out! 😍 What they do is unscramble the phonics pattern words and write the word correctly using the word bank. Then they color those words the correct color on the picture page. The colors are as listed next to the correctly spelt word.
